Person-centred Counselling & Creative Psychotherapy

Using creativity as a bridge to further exploration and insight or emotion and feeling focusing. Focus in and do the deep, inner-work with a trained & trauma-informed practitioner, or simply use the space to talk freely and really be heard.

What is Person-Centred Counselling?

Person-centred therapy works with the client’s natural self-healing process, building the client’s understanding of their own experiences, and taking the steps towards positive change. This approach underpins all of Zoey’s work, meaning:

  • Empathy
  • Understanding
  • Non-judgement
  • Honesty
  • Transparency
  • Compassion

are all offered within the therapeutic relationship.

What is Creative Psychotherapy?

Creative psychotherapy is the use of non-verbal expression such as drawing, collage, writing and play, as a way to communicate our inner world, or see it for ourselves in new and insightful ways. Finding clarity in thoughts can be difficult; creative exploration helps to communicate or experience things that aren’t always easy to make sense of or put into words.

Therapy is offered by Zoey, a trauma-informed practitioner. Therapeutic work is always based on a psychologically safe, and holding relationship.

People come to therapy for a number of reasons. This may be to feel clearer about things, work through difficult times or life transitions, work on unresolved trauma or past experience, process, gain greater self-awareness, make a change or simply gain acceptance, in order to heal and move forward.

Zoey has experience with a range of clients with experiences including: stress, burn out, anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, addiction and loss.
